Noted Sarasota history expert and raconteur John McCarthy will lead an historical walking tour “The Citrus Tour.” In downtown Sarasota. John’s tours have been highly praised as ‘delightfully informative.” “fresh new perspectives on our historical neighborhoods.” This is McCarthy’s first of five such tours during our program year. Center for Architecture Sarasota is a non-profit organization based in a newly-restored 1960’s downtown building originally designed by two architects from the Sarasota School of Architecture. Along with its partner, the UF Graduate School of Architecture’s CityLab Sarasota. The Center presents exhibits, lectures, tours and events to foster the public’s understanding of the influence of architecture and design in enriching the Sarasota region – and our lives.
